The IAA Faculty welcomes you to visit our Faculty Show “Lucidity”. This year we have invited some faculty outside of the VA department to show their work alongside some of our newer faculty members. On view September 2nd – September 30th, Monday – Friday from 10am – 5pm.

As the Visual Arts Department changes, self-reflection is required to remain calm amid chaos. Pausing to try to comprehend new experiences and new opportunities. While we progress through this school year we will be coming together as a larger community. Through this, we will grow to learn more about each other, students as well as faculty. 

When choosing a name for this show it was inherently important to us to select something that highlights an important aspect of art itself. As artists, we challenge ourselves to construct whole new worlds, and visual representations for others to participate in. Through this act we are communicating something visually, viscerally that highlights our collective experiences and perspectives. We attempt to coalesce various stylistic elements into a coherent visual message for the audience to experience. Hopefully, a moment of brightness, of lightness, of lucidity upon viewing it.
