Designed for students at all levels, from beginner to experienced, the instructor will work with you to improve your individual skills and knowledge. At the end of this course, you will be able to tune the guitar and learn about or play a variety of styles, picking techniques, songs, chords and more. You can learn how to accompany yourself while performing. Finally, you will better understand the guitar and its many uses for composition, accompaniment, soloing and beyond. This class will prepare you to maximize the use of the guitar, learn a number of fun and useful techniques and to develop a lifelong passion for the instrument.
Skill level: All levels (ages 14- adult)
Tuition: $198 for Six, 90-minute Sessions
($33 per session, must register for all six weeks)
Don Reed, Guitar & Songwriting: co-founded the Songwriting Department at Idyllwild Arts in 2010, making the school one of only a handful of high schools in the U.S. offering a Songwriting major. He teaches numerous songwriting, music business, music history classes as well as private instrument lessons. Don is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and has been writing and performing for more than four decades. Reed’s work has been featured on hundreds of recordings as well as in television, film, theater, and beyond.
