We’re thrilled to announce that this year, Arts Enterprise Laboratory (AEL) is proudly sponsoring the publication of four original student books — and we can’t wait to celebrate their incredible voices! These independent projects are being professionally published through Ingram Spark — complete with copyrights, printed copies, and invaluable guidance in both writing and publishing. Special thanks to faculty mentor Andrew Leeson for supporting our student authors every step of the way, and to AEL Director Rebecca Kandel for empowering our students with the support, resources, and platform they need to transform their literary dreams into reality. The books will be available for purchase at the reading (payment accepted via cash or Venmo only):

My Dearest Arabella by Emma Davis (Dramatic Arts ’25) – A gripping story of revenge, resilience, and unexpected vulnerability. What begins as a quest for justice turns into a powerful reflection on society and the self.

Wenger 12 by Kaylee An (Music ’25) – The story follows Kyezi, a brilliant but narcissistic pianist navigating a cutthroat music conservatory where ambition runs high and secrets run deeper. As a series of unsettling events unfolds leading up to Pianofest, he finds himself pulled into a mystery that blurs the line between genius and madness.

Magnolias and Other Flowers by Zoe Lazar (Dramatic Arts ’26) – A collection of writings about loss. A book started in honor of IAA teacher Magnolia Jurado has given a voice to over 20 writers to express their grief. Through poetry, short stories, song lyrics, and interviews, this book contains unique stories of loss.

Coyote the Butterfly Guide by Camille Dahlgren (Visual Arts ’25) and Lucy Youngren (Visual Arts ’25) – Written and illustrated in collaboration with the Discovery Science Center in San Diego, this children’s book about the native plants and animals of California explores the power of teamwork, with a protagonist who wants to build an urban garden and enlists the help of friends with different skills.
