Event Details

Please join us for another unforgettable Annual Black History Month Concert this Saturday on the Idyllwild Arts Campus! The legendary Dr. Marshall Hawkins (founder of the IA Jazz program) and Dr. Daniel Bassin (IA Director of Orchestras) have convened a special 18-piece guest Jazz Orchestra to join our own Jazz and Classical music students, faculty, and alumni for this highly anticipated event. Immediately following the concert in the Concert Hall lobby, please join us in celebrating the second annual “Dr. Marshall Hawkins Day,” as proclaimed by the Idyllwild Arts Foundation Board of Trustees in 2022. Idyllwild Arts Foundation President Pamela Jordan will lead us in honoring Dr. Hawkins’ legacy on this special occasion, and dessert and refreshments will be served.
