Magnetic Connection: Unique Integrated Clasp

Learn to create a silver clasp utilizing a magnet that is both durable and a central element in your bracelet and neckpiece design. The construction of this style of hinged clasp is original in its design and magnetic function. You will not only add a new clasp to your work, but also gain experience in constructing hinges. In addition, you will fabricate a “ball/slide” clasp that is a simple and unique addition to your design.
Class will include discussion of composition, design strategies and lots of individual attention as you fabricate clasps that enhance your finished neckpiece and bracelet. You are encouraged to bring gemstones, beads, gold, and/or found objects to embellish your designs. Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced. Knowledge and experience in soldering small parts is helpful.
