Eszter Takacs
Eszter is originally from Hungary and is the author of the chapbooks The Spectacular Crash (H_NGM_N Books) and Together We Will Talk Right Down to Earth (The New Megaphone). Her work has been featured in several print and web literary journals. She holds a BA in English from Loyola Marymount University and an MFA in Poetry from the University of Arkansas, with a doctoral dissertation in progress at the University of Denver.
Eszter has taught both writing and literature at the University of Arkansas, University of Denver, Red Rocks Community College and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Prior to arriving in Idyllwild, she most recently worked in supportive housing at The Delores Project in Denver, where she was able to re-evaluate what it means to be both human and professional, and where she facilitated writing and exercise workshops, talent shows and interactive community art projects.
In her free time, Eszter enjoys playing the flute, photography, collage-making and painting in the abstract. She has two cats, runs often but slowly and visits the beach when she can. You can find some of her creative work and teaching philosophies at www.esztereszter.com.
