The Idyllwild Arts Foundation proudly presents: Student Showcase Spotlight Series 2018!

The Student Showcase Spotlight Series 2018 is a reimagining of what was formerly known exclusively as the Student Showcase. Comprised of a VIP Sponsors’ Reception and Spotlight events featuring Dance, Visual Arts, and Music, the Spotlight Series allows Idyllwild Arts to feature individual arts departments by: comprehensively showcasing their unique work; providing performing opportunities to a significant number of students in the Dance, Visual Arts, and Music departments; investing as much funding as possible directly in ourselves; generating scholarships and programmatic support for students of Idyllwild Arts Academy and Summer Programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why have we changed from doing one Student Showcase to multiple events in the Spotlight Series?

By having multiple Spotlight events featuring individual arts departments, the Spotlight Series will allow us to highlight more work than what can be shown in one production. Each art department is unique, and by providing independent events customized for specific disciplines, we’re able to showcase them more comprehensively.

Will all art departments be featured?

Spotlight events will feature individual art departments. All arts departments will get a chance to have their individual Spotlight event depending on which year they’ll be part of the Series.

How do you choose which art departments are featured in a Series?

We plan our Spotlight Series as a collective whole, taking into account what works best for our academic calendar, arts curriculum, and which individual Spotlight events will compliment each other.

When and where are the events held?

Events are held on and off campus throughout the academic school year.

Are on-campus events still free and open to the public?

Yes, general seating without charge is still available. However, all guests are required to pre-register.

How is my money being used?

Sponsoring the Spotlight Series will allow our students to gain valuable performing experience, while keeping the events free and open to the public – the Idyllwild way. It also helps us provide scholarships to nearly 50% of our students.
