Theatre: Acting & Improv for Young Performers

Improve your improvisation skills, build your confidence and delve into new acting techniques. Using theatre games and exercises, you will work on character development, discover the best audition methods for you, explore melodrama, tragedy, comedy, Shakespeare and more!

Through exercises and activities, you will meet fellow actors, make new friends and socialize online. This workshop is the perfect enhancement to your regular school curriculum.

Launched in 2018 to bring theatre training to younger children in Idyllwild, Children’s Theatre classes are now online and available for young students everywhere who will benefit from affordable, quality theatre instruction.

Meet Your Faculty

Dimyana Pelev Dysart is an energetic artist on stage, behind the scenes and in the classroom. Dimyana is on the theatre faculty at Idyllwild Arts and Chaffey College and serves as co-director of Stars of Tomorrow Children’s Theater. She has studied at LAMDA, New London Theatre, and holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Redlands with an emphasis on directing and children’s theatre and an M.A. in Theater Directing from Regent University.

What You Will Need

  • Good internet connection 
  • Any electronic device that has access to the internet (phone, tablet, computer, iPod, etc.) 
  • Make sure your device is charged before class begins
  • Space to sing and dance
  • Notebook
  • Pen or pencil
  • Every week has a small homework assignment. Some assignments require common household items.
