Dramatic Arts Audition Requirements

Do you crave the vibrant energy of live performance, and find yourself singing the latest musical theatre songs or acting out scenes in your head? Young Actors at Idyllwild Arts live in a space where ideas, stories, and characters come to life. Our expansive, interdisciplinary curriculum offers students an entire spectrum of Dramatic Arts including acting, musical theatre, production and design or general theatre; creating fully-realized, well-rounded performers and technicians confident in their own abilities and ready for the next level.

Requirements

Acting  

Please submit two prepared monologues from memory of no more than two minutes each.    

Musical Theatre  

Please submit two prepared monologues from memory of no more than two minutes each.    

Design & Production

Audition/portfolio requirements will be determined after an interview is scheduled with the Director of Design & Production.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should be uploaded to a file sharing/hosting site such as Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. Copy and paste the link(s) to your submission(s) in your application in the relevant field. Please be sure to set your permissions to allow us to view your files.

For those submitting several works, please either combine them all into a single file (such as a PDF or Powerpoint) or add them all to a folder in your chosen file hosting site and submit the link to the folder rather than submitting links to each item individually.
