Who We Are
Idyllwild Arts respectfully acknowledges the Qawishpa Cahuillangnah (also known as Cahuilla Band of Indians) and all nine sovereign Bands of Cahuilla people who have stewarded this land throughout the generations and continue to steward this land for all future generations.
Here at Idyllwild Arts, our firm belief that art is the greatest teacher of humanity defines our educational philosophy and distinguishes our Academy from other arts schools in the country. Since its founding in 1946, Idyllwild Arts has always perpetuated excellence in artmaking in service to people from different backgrounds and cultures. In this digital age, creativity and innovation are the competencies needed to address the world’s most complex challenges. Idyllwild Arts is uniquely positioned and specifically qualified to inspire and teach the Citizen Artists from around the world who wish to make a difference in the communities in which they live and serve.
Nestled amidst the breathtakingly beautiful village of Idyllwild, high in the San Jacinto mountains of Southern California, our campus serves as a peaceful respite for artists seeking to explore the depths of their creativity and join a broader creative collective. Our highest goal is to embolden and cultivate artists as inspired citizens who practice interdisciplinary thinking and undertake the intentional journey of self-discovery while finding creative fulfillment in uplifting others.
Experience a world-renowned education at Idyllwild Arts, which offers two dynamic programs: a boarding arts high school (grades 9-12 and postgraduate) and a summer arts program offering workshops and intensives for all ages.
Under the tutelage of experienced instructors, our Citizen Artists develop confidence, refine their technique, and foster meaningful connections with fellow creatives.
