Before performing composer Zoltan Almashi’s “Elegy” and Mykola Lysenko’s “Élégie – La Tristesse” for cello and piano at Carnegie Hall and Ukrainian Institute of America in New York next season as part of his prize, Mondy will perform the U.S. Premiere of Almashi’s “Elegy” in it’s newly-written cello and chamber orchestra version as the soloist with the Idyllwild Arts Instrumental Artist’s Intensive Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Daniel Bassin. This will be Mondy’s third summer participating in the Instrumental Artist’s Intensive program at Idyllwild, and he is so honored to have been invited to perform as the soloist with the orchestra this summer and to present this premiere.

This very special concert performance will also include:

  • Serenade for Strings, P. Tchaikovsky
  • Divertimento in D, W. Mozart
  • “Summer” from the Four Seasons, A. Vivaldi
  • Verano Porteño, A. Piazzolla
