Join the Idyllwild Arts Dramatic Arts Department for a devised theatre performance based on William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. This show will apply an open & creative process that includes original text and scenes, but revisits the beloved classic’s enduring themes to examine how this play, which was written in 1594 (over 430 years ago) still feels relevant today, with audiences continuing to connect deeply with its tragic story of young love. This unique show will be performed in the round, bringing the audience into the action, and utilizes an engaging question-and-answer format bringing new perspectives to well-known scenes. The performance includes strong ensemble work, original scenes, and music & song to showcase new interpretations of what love is (or can be) in our modern world.
We will be recording and releasing our production via Vimeo to provide viewing opportunities in all time zones around the world!
