Total Capacity includes Residential and Day Students – Students will be split into two classes of 12 students each.

Overview

In this two-week art workshop, you will explore acrylic and watercolor painting, graphite and charcoal drawing, pen and ink, oil pastels, contour drawing, color mixing, portrait projection, grids, batik, mixed media and collage, figure drawing, and plein air sketching. You should be open and willing to examine new techniques and work with different materials. Use your talent and commitment to art as a springboard to grow as an artist and find your own creative process.

The class will be divided into two halves: Please note that any friends coming together can opt to be in the same section. One half will go to Painting and the other to Drawing, spending half of the day learning each of the two disciplines. Students will then switch places after lunch.

*The final culmination is Friday evening, with Saturday being a move-out day

Additional Information

Our Visual Arts classes do not require any type of assessment or portfolio to get into the program. Instructors will work with your child at the level that they are at. Your child will improve and learn new skills whether they are a beginner or have been an artist for years.

MATHLAB – Online

This course is designed for both incoming and current students, offering an opportunity to get a head start on their math learning, continue their progress from the previous school year, or focus on credit recovery. MathLAB allows students to progress at their own pace while participating in live Zoom sessions with their teacher three times a week, each lasting one hour. To maximize the benefits of the Summer Math Program, students are strongly encouraged to engage in independent work outside of the required Zoom meetings.

Summer College Preparatory Workshop – Online

16-18

This course prepares rising seniors for the college application process with safe, personalized feedback and review sessions. Led by the supportive Idyllwild College Counseling Department, the three-day workshop will leave students with a confident headstart on their applications and a solid list of prospective colleges. The program meets 8am-noon each day, for 3 days.
