(Total Capacity includes Residential and Day Students. Students will be split into two sections of 12 students each.)
From painting with acrylics and watercolors to drawing with graphite, charcoal, and ink, campers in this dynamic workshop will spend a full two weeks exploring a wide variety of creative techniques and materials for making art. They’ll experiment with color mixing, oil pastels, grids, contour drawing, portrait projection, collage, batik, figure drawing, and even sketching outdoors. Along the way, they’ll gain hands-on experience with both traditional and experimental approaches. Most importantly, your child will be encouraged to explore their own creative process, build confidence in their abilities, and discover new ways to express themselves as an artist.
The class will be divided in half into two sections: one half will go to Painting and the other to Drawing, spending half of the day learning each of the two disciplines. Students will then switch places after lunch. Please note that any friends coming together can opt to be in the same section.
*The final culmination is Friday, with Saturday being a move-out day for residential students.
Our Visual Arts classes do not require any type of assessment or portfolio to get into the program. Instructors will work with your child at their level. Your child will improve and learn new skills whether they are a beginner or have been an artist for years.
