Multi-Arts

Age 5 – Entering Grade 2*

Multi-Arts is a creative camp for aspiring artists entering kindergarten (age 5) thru 2nd grade, blending visual art, drama and movement. Each week ends with an art show and a theater performance, with no experience necessary — just curiosity and imagination! Perfect for young artists who love to imagine, express, and create. Children may come for multiple weeks and gain new discoveries each session.

Overview

Multi-Arts invites our youngest artists to explore visual art, drama and creative expression against the backdrop of our beautiful mountain campus. Throughout the week, students dive into hands-on art projects, playful theater games, and imaginative storytelling, building confidence and creativity at every step.

No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to explore, create, and play. Each week is a self-contained creative journey, culminating in an art show and a theater performance where campers proudly share what they’ve made and learned with family and friends.

This program is designed for children ages 5-7, so parents should be certain their little one is ready for a full-day program. Parents are welcome to stay the first morning until Morning Sing is over.

Idyllwild is an ideal vacation area offering hiking, shopping, many restaurants, and quaint motels and cabins. You can book a vacation for yourself and give your child the gift of the Multi-Arts Day Program. Children may come for multiple weeks and gain new discoveries each session.

In the event of low enrollment in any given week, it’s possible that Multi-Arts (grades K-2) and Artist Discovery (grades 3-5) classes will be combined.

Additional Information

The Multi-Arts program is open-admission. Instructors will work with your child at their level. Your child will improve and learn new skills, regardless of their level of experience.

-A refillable water bottle with your child’s name clearly marked
-Comfortable clothes that can get messy
-Sturdy closed-toed shoes

Before you arrive:
-Apply sunscreen
-Apply bug repellent, repellent stickers or bracelet

Please mark all belongings with your child’s name.

Phones or other electronic devices are not allowed in Kids programs. Please do not send a device with your child.

Your student will be following this basic schedule each day:

Drop off students at Children’s Center between 8:15am – 8:25am
8:30am: Morning Sing/Greeting
9:00am – 11:20am: Morning Classes (snack provided)
11:30 am – 12:15 pm: Lunch in the Dining Hall
12:30pm – 3:15pm: Afternoon Classes (snack provided)
Pick up from Children’s Center at 3:30 pm

Students will be allowed to use the pool on Tuesday – Friday from 3:30pm – 5:45pm with the supervision of a parent or guardian. (Enrolled children only, please. No siblings or friends.) Lifeguards will be present.

Multi-Arts culminations are every Friday at 3:00pm. Parents and families are encouraged to attend. Students are free to go home with their parents when it is finished, or stay and watch the Artist Discovery student performance immediately afterwards.

The Next Makeup Artist

Entering Grades 9-12, up to age 17

Explore makeup from fundamental techniques to creative, avant-garde looks designed for editorial photoshoots. Animation Lab

Entering Grades 9-12, up to age 17

Discover the magic of animation in this hands-on workshop exploring 3D stop-motion. Students will create original characters and stories while experimenting with programs such as Stop Motion Studio and Dragon Frame. Designed for beginners and experienced young artists alike, the workshop combines creative play, cinematic techniques, and collaboration.
