Maxwell was born and raised in Hemet, California where he met and now lives with his long term girlfriend. He graduated from California State University Chico in Spring 2022 and completed both his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics Education and his Single Subject Credential in Mathematics in his four years at Chico State. Maxwell believes that building relationships is necessary for students to become successful and responsible individuals. His belief about mathematics education can be summed up in this quote: “Mathematics ability is a function of opportunity, experience, and effort—not of innate intelligence… All students are capable of participating and achieving in mathematics, and all deserve support to achieve at the highest levels.” Whether it be big or small, his main goal in life is to have an impact on other people’s lives. This particularly holds true when working with students. Maxwell guarantees that he will put his best foot forward as an educator and as a role model in order to ensure the success of his students. Some fun facts about Maxwell are that he loves to spend time with his girlfriend, listen to music, play video games, and watch anime. His favorite food is probably fried chicken or sushi.
